<Futurology, Soothsaying, Fortunetelling, and the Biblical Prophecy> (21)

(If Jesus Christ comes again soon, are you ready?)

Human beings can use their rationality and the past experiences to study and analyze the past in order to predict the future – that is called, Futurology.

Human beings also can depend on the spiritual mediums to tell the future which are called soothsaying, witchcraft, and fortunetelling. Sometimes, they are very accurate because it is involved with the evil. However, the results of these activities always bring tricks, confusions, fears, frights and curses. Satan will never have the ability to understand and know the will of God about the future.

Praise the Lord! Our God, the Almighty One, He reveals Himself about His will and the future of human destinies to us through the Bible. By the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ, God reveals to us through the Bible about what and how will be the end of the world.

The last two weeks we who live in New York experienced a great super heat of the summer. If the heat of this summer is so unbearable in New York how about those who live nearby the equators, they have even worse situations. I remember 30 years ago, the weathers in New York were much nicer and mild. The heat-up weather was only last for a few days. Then, most of the time was very nice and cozy. But unfortunately, the global weather is very instable and moves toward like desert climate.

Such kind of heat in New York City recently causes a lot of troubles. Some high density population areas because of over using the electricity, those areas totally lose the power of electricity that makes the living condition even worse.

Each time when we think of this situation, we need to give our thanks to the Lord that we are still living on the surface of the earth. Although this earth has been deprived and becomes sick, it is still livable. There is no place which is higher than 150 degrees of Fahrenheit in our living space. Besides, we have houses, shades, and equipments to protect us from over heating in our bodies so that we will not get sick. If we sweat, we can have water to drink.

But watch out! Our Lord Jesus Christ warns us that there is a place called, “HELL” which is always heat-up by fire and that is unbearable. This is what He says,

“Where (hell) their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.

Everyone will be salted with fire.” (Mark 9:48, 49)

In other word, there are three noticeable characters of the hell: imperishable worms such as snakes, scorpions, and cockroaches which live and crawl around the humans always; unquenchable fire which keeps burning forever; and it will only heat up the temperature but never ceases. And the worst part is that anyone who stays there will never get out. That is an everlasting residence for sinners to stay. The Book of Revelation calls it, “the lake of fire (20:15.) That is also the forever living place of Satan and its troops.

Some Chinese people make a joke by saying; they do not like to go to heaven, because there they cannot play mahjong. In hell, it will be easy for them to find people who gamble. How stupid it would be, if it is in someone’s mind. If hell still has room for people to play mahjong, then, Jesus Christ did not have to give up His heavenly highest glory and incarnated to be human and finally for the sack of our sins to die on the cross. Please do not be so silly!

This world is reaching to its end soon! The heat from this kind of weather seems allow us to smell the burning fire from the hell. We are warned. But unfortunately, the evil doers still keep doing their evil works. However, I still believe that before the ending of the time, God still loves us and he still provides many opportunities for human beings to repent. I still can see the revivals which will be given to us by the power of the Holy Spirit. And the love Jesus Christ is still powerfully changing people’s life. We need to work with the Holy Spirit. He likes to use us as His instruments to spread the good news – the gospel of Christ to the world. Are you ready? When Christ is coming? And are you willing to be used by Him?
